Davinoff’s Sculpture Park, North Side, Grand Cayman

Look out! Chickens Crossing. And a whole lot more…

If you visit Grand Cayman, be sure to stop at Davinoff’s Concrete Sculpture Park on Old Robin Road in Old Man Bay. Wisconsin sculptor David Quasius (okay – who happens to be my brother-in-law) has created an assembly of monumental concrete sculptures of the island’s unique creatures. Each piece is set into the natural landscape so that shadows of palm branches and splashes of sunlight interplay to create endless surprises and fun.

The park is identified by signage which invites you to park beside the road and take some time enjoying and photographing the sculptures.

Davinoff’s sculpture is highly rated on Trip Advisor, where you can see visitors’ photos of their kids perched on the giant crocodile or hugging a mammoth blue iguana. Watch out for the spike on the tail of the scorpion – seriously!

Here’s the Sculptor, Davinoff, who is making quite a name for himself on the North Side of Grand Cayman. He poses with Aculeus, his most recent large sculpture (March 2014).
